This article is a creative study on the prophecy of Revelation’s “Mystery: Babylon the Great” and its resemblance to the United States of America.
Congratulations to Milena! She finally graduated from culinary school after rolling her sleeves for two hard years of kneading, baking, frosting—and burning! That ambitious little cookie is on a flight back to Georgia right now to take a job at Paradise Cupcakes and start her amazing career as a pastry chef. Best of luck, Mils!
Jeff hasn’t stopped blogging since the latest monkey circus of riots ended in Portland. It’s as if he wants to get himself arrested. I think he just likes the image of running around the streets in a mask, or it makes him feel big. Left vs. right, Antifa against Patriot Prayer. Do these people even know what they’re doing?
Terrible news. Todd and Vanessa just called off the wedding—the night before. Still waiting for details. Vanessa’s mom said there was an argument and she’s now staying with her for the time being. It sounds bad. I don’t think we can expect a rescheduling this time. Maybe we could all go over tomorrow and cheer her up with some gifts. She’s needs our love right now. #Toddcangotohell
Dad and his research assistant, Dr. Mori, just announced a shocking observation at the USGS Menlo Park facility. An unprecedented swarm of earthquakes beneath the Yellowstone Plateau is currently being monitored as it draws nervously close to the three primary calderas. Mostly 3’s and 4’s. No steam yet. A steep increase in seismic activity is keeping the USGS on high alert after discovering a 700,000-square-mile subterranean reservoir of molten carbon. Tick, tock… In other news, Hamlet finally kicked the bucket in his cage last night. RIP, little guy.
Dustin H. Padgett is an idiot. He’s been going down to that laundry mat on Woodview Ave. every weekend since last October to try and talk to “Towel Girl.” Never even got her name. Apparently the owner called the cops. Dusty’s now being questioned by police over complaints of stalking. Just found out this isn’t the first time either. When you think you know someone…
A comet just lit up Park City at 3:01 in the morning! Wow! Glad I was awake to see that. The astronomical observatory on Frisco Peak was (oddly) shut down two days earlier. Were they expecting more than a fly-by?
A Reddit user named “PetrDragan94” started posting about his journey in the Satanic Temple last month. He posted nonsense about the Devil for weeks, same thing over and over. People thought it was a bot. He just announced plans for a high-school massacre in Ohio. Watch out.
Little brother was found sleeping in the back alley this morning. Hunter has been acting very strange lately. He was screaming at mom all through dinner last week, and now this. This is not like him at all. Could be amphetamine.
Just heard that a massive sinkhole on the I-15 swallowed four vehicles near Great Falls. No names on the news yet. Somebody needs to pay the $2 trillion and fix America’s crumbling infrastructure.
The coroner’s report is out. Lily’s tragic departure from our lives was a suicide. My deepest condolences to her parents right now. She was so lively and beautiful. Never saw this coming.
Texas megachurch preacher Sam Middleton was finally arrested after sending inappropriate text messages to twelve-year-old Kristin Ann Rubeck in an attempt to lure her to a hotel in Fort Worth.
Henry’s recovering at Kirby Memorial. Thank-you to everyone who sent their support. He served five years on the ground in Afghanistan, and then he drives into Lake Erie. Doesn’t remember anything.

There’s got to be a word for it, that sinking feeling, when a deep panic suddenly sets in, doom twisting in the gut, your mind struggling to grasp cold reality as it claws for a way to reverse time just a few minutes.
One day, it’s just going to happen. All terror in culmination. All nightmares realized.
In the thrall of an endless scroll of daily affairs, frustrations, obligations, elections, anxieties, pursuits; as things get weirder and weirder; everyone acclimatizing to the gradual crescendo of entropy; the last remaining normalcy of upstanding communities and quaint all-American neighbourhoods will be washed away in disaster. Like a certain ancient city of legend that caroused through its final night unaware, becoming nothing more than an adage of warning to future societies, that “great city that has dominion over the kings of the earth” will suffer a Luciferian fall to apex a historical series of mythical kingdoms that one day simply vanished from existence. It will be the first great domino in a worldwide judgment from Heaven. A land we thought we knew. A breeding ground for evils everywhere.
“Likewise, just as it was in the days of Lot—they were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building, but on the day when Lot went out from Sodom, fire and sulfur rained from heaven and destroyed them all—so will it be on the day when the Son of Man is revealed.” (Luke 17:28-30)
I want to revise a Biblical study that receives a peculiar lack of exposure in the Christian community, a study I’ve done before, excavating the almost parallel passages of Jeremiah 50-51 and Revelation 17-18 in order to unearth what I believe is the horrific explanation for America’s conspicuous absence from Bible prophecy—its prophetic identity and secret destiny as “Babylon the Great.”
We know the prophecy of this great calamity has not yet been fulfilled upon any countries because of such passages as these:
“O Lord, you have said concerning this place that you will cut it off, so that nothing shall dwell in it, neither man nor beast, and it shall be desolate forever.” (Jer. 51:62)
“Because of the wrath of the Lord she shall not be inhabited but shall be an utter desolation… How the hammer of the whole earth is cut down and broken! How Babylon has become a horror among the nations! … Therefore wild beasts shall dwell with hyenas in Babylon, and ostriches shall dwell in her. She shall never again have people, nor be inhabited for all generations. As when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring cities, declares the Lord, so no man shall dwell there, and no son of man shall sojourn in her.” (Jer. 50:13, 23, 39-40)
An entire country left uninhabited, once the “hammer of the whole earth,” now an eternal wilderness.
There is no great kingdom in the history of the world—let alone ancient Babylon—that we can say has been left utterly desolate and uninhabited to this very day. Jeremiah is not talking about something that has happened yet. This is a yet-future event. Ancient Babylon had already been long since overthrown as a nation and superpower when John called it “the great city that has dominion over the kings of the earth” in Revelation 17:18, surviving only as a zoroastrian religious system under Parthian rule. The Roman Empire was the Babylon of John’s time, but its ruin has already come long ago, the details of which bear no resemblance to the fate prophesied for this mystery land we read of in Jeremiah and Revelation, destined to desolation.
Is it modern-day Iraq, where Babylon once stretched its capital borders? I don’t think we can call Iraq the “hammer of the whole earth,” nor do I see such a prospect being realized any time soon.
But what about the United States of America?
What about a land of lies, a country mysteriously consecrated to a feathered serpent by the mesoamerican name “Amaruca” while telling its people it was named after a Florentine explorer?
The U.S. is currently the leading world superpower — “How the hammer of the whole earth is cut down and broken!”
Here’s what TIME wrote in a 2015 article called:
“A ‘superpower’ is a country that wields enough military, political and economic might to convince nations in all parts of the world to do things they otherwise wouldn’t. Pundits have rushed to label China the next superpower—and so have many ordinary Americans—but the rumors of America’s decline have been greatly exaggerated. In the key categories of power, the U.S. will remain dominant for the foreseeable future. These facts show why America is still the world’s only superpower, and why that won’t change anytime soon…
“1) Economics: China’s economy is growing at an impressive rate. But it’s not just the size of an economy that matters—it’s also the quality…
“2) Military: America’s military superiority remains unrivaled—full stop. The US accounts for 37% of global military spending, and spends more than four times what China, the world’s No. 2 spender, does on its military…
“3) Political Influence: Political power comes in many dimensions. For the U.S., foreign aid is an effective way to cement its political clout globally. In 2013, the U.S. doled out $32.7 billion in financial assistance; second was the UK at $19 billion…
“4) Innovation: Of the 9 largest tech companies in the world, 8 are based in the U.S. Give the growing importance of the technology sector, that’s a big deal. For decades America worried about energy dependency, yet today America is the world’s No. 1 producer of oil and natural gas, in large part due to the development of hydraulic fracturing, a product of public research and private energy…
“5) Culture/Lifestyle: In 2012, Americans spent $370 million on pet costumes. Earlier this year the Fury 325 opened up in North Carolina, claiming the title of world’s tallest rollercoaster—until 2016, when the next ‘giga’ coaster is scheduled to open in Orlando, Florida. In the most recent Charities Aid Foundation survey, Americans ranked #1 internationally when it came to helping strangers. These stats may seem disconnected, but together they point to the fact that Americans continue to enjoy a quality of life unmatched by the rest of the world. When you combine this with America’s strength across the board in economics, military, political influence and innovation, it is no wonder that the U.S. enjoys its privileged position in the world today. Superpower indeed.”
That makes a frightful amount of sense out of passages like these:
“Babylon was a golden cup in the Lord‘s hand, making all the earth drunken; the nations drank of her wine; therefore the nations went mad… O you who dwell by many waters, rich in treasures, your end has come…” (Jer. 51:7, 13)
“For all nations have drunk the wine of the passion of her sexual immorality, and the kings of the earth have committed immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth have grown rich from the power of her luxurious living… As she glorified herself and lived in luxury, so give her a like measure of torment and mourning… ‘Alas! Alas! You great city, you mighty city, Babylon! For in a single hour your judgment has come.’ And the merchants of the earth weep and mourn for her, since no one buys their cargo anymore, cargo of gold, silver, jewels, pearls, fine linen, purple cloth, silk, scarlet cloth, all kinds of scented wood, all kinds of articles of ivory, all kinds of articles of costly wood, bronze, iron and marble, cinnamon, spice, incense, myrrh, frankincense, wine, oil, fine flour, wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, and slaves, that is, human souls. ‘The fruit for which your soul longed has gone from you, and all your delicacies and your splendors are lost to you, never to be found again!’ The merchants of these wares, who gained wealth from her, will stand far off, in fear of her torment, weeping and mourning aloud, ‘Alas, alas, for the great city that was clothed in fine linen, in purple and scarlet, adorned with gold, with jewels, and with pearls! For in a single hour all this wealth has been laid waste. And all shipmasters and seafaring men, sailors and all whose trade is on the sea, stood far off and cried out as they saw the smoke of her burning, ‘What city was like the great city?” (Rev. 18:3, 7, 10-18)
The merchants of the whole world weep for it; it must be the home of the international currency standard—America, too, ranks as the #1 economic superpower in terms of nominal GDP.
Talking about splendour, luxury living, and fine linen, forget ancient Babylon—America has founded its reputation on being a consumer society as the world’s largest distributor of video games, movies, and other useless leisure vanities, with New York and Los Angeles naming it (arguably) the biggest fashion leader in the world.
This Babylon is also the world capital of sexual immorality—funny, America is at the top of the list of pornography production, and as a cultural role model, it became the global vanguard for promiscuity after the sexual revolution of the late 20th century.
“Babylon the great, mother of prostitutes…” (Rev. 17:5)
Just a reminder, on Friday at 2:00 p.m., the Community Board is having a re-meeting at Town Hall to finalize a draft on the Positive Neutrality Initiative. Friday afternoon, folks. Don’t be late!
So excited! Off to Charmlee to catch butterflies with Juliet. Or at least try. Spring is the best month! Wish us luck, everyone!
“Behold, she shall be the last of the nations…” (Jer. 50:12)
That verse rules out ancient Babylon, and Rome, and any country situated in Europe or the Middle East. The Babylon here spoken of is “the last of the nations,” the final world superpower in history, which as of yet is the USA. Based on that one small verse, Rome and Iraq are disqualified from fulfilling this prophecy, all because of the United States, the last of the nations.
And what kind of people constitute this final nation? America is a mixed country, an immigrant melting pot of race and religion. A country founded on ethnic and racial diversity is a very new experiment, and America has been the largest of its kind. A nation without strong linguistic, religious, or ethnic homogeneity has almost always been considered a liability, until 20th-century America. What a remarkable innovation—and this is precisely what we find in the prophecies…
“… because of the sword of the oppressor, every one shall turn to his own people, and every one shall flee to his own land.” (Jeremiah 50:16)
“Forsake her, and let us go each to his own country… I will punish Bel in Babylon, and take out of his mouth what he has swallowed. The nations shall no longer flow to him…” (Jer. 51:9, 44)
“’Come, I will show you the judgment of the great prostitute who is seated on many waters‘ … And the angel said to me, ‘The waters that you saw, where the prostitute is seated, are peoples and multitudes and nations and languages.” (Rev. 17:1, 15)
In tandem with being the “last of the nations” and the “hammer of the whole earth” as the leading world superpower, this great multicultural nation can only be a description of America.
Dear bigots, please find the nearest graveyard to bury yourself in with your psychotic religious delusions and leave the rest of us alone. Not everyone wants to live as a toxic, hateful termite like you. Thanks. Sincerely, humanity.
Ancient Babylon began its pride and glory by building a great tower under the reign of Nimrod, a tower tall enough to reach heaven — “Now the whole earth had one language and the same words. And as people migrated from the east, they found a plain in the land of Shinar and settled there. And they said to one another, ‘Come, let us make bricks, and burn them thoroughly.’ And they had brick for stone, and bitumen for mortar. Then they said, ‘Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower with its top in the heavens…” (Gen. 11:1-4)
The Tower of Babel.
The same spirit and ambition has reincarnated through America, which far surpassed the heights that Babylon ever reached.
The tower of America was built to be launched.
Because of NASA, the U.S. remains the world leader in space exploration—although, I feel quite strongly that a very distinct set of quotation marks ought to be placed around the word “space.”
“…her sins are heaped high as heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.” (Rev. 18:5)
“…her judgment has reached up to heaven and has been lifted up even to the skies.” (Jer. 51:9)
I imagine that when “her dwellings are on fire” (Jer. 51:30) and when “she will be burned up with fire” (Rev. 18:9) and “when they see the smoke of her burning” (Rev. 18:9), the dark columns rising from her destruction will look something like a metropolis of smoke skyscrapers memorializing its defiant will to carry on the ambition behind the Tower of Babel. As far as America tried to pierce the heavens will the smoke of its ruin ascend.
Okay. Honesty time. Capitalism is a broken system and it always has been. It doesn’t work. Low wages, few jobs, and high prices? Is that what you want? Really? That’s what a concentration of market power does to a country. It’s a rigged system set up to revive expanding income disparities and oppressive oligarchies. This is how democracy dies.
I’m never going to finish my essay before tomorrow morning. Mr. Smart (me) thought it would be a good idea to study at Gianni’s Pizza during BUSY hour. I need a girlfriend.
What a great life. Why do I exist? I got fired from a filthy compost fertilizer plant. I can’t afford next week’s rent payment. I’m sick of this. I’m done. This is going to have to be my last post, “friends.” I’m not calling another hotline. I’m done with hotlines. There’s no help for me at this point, not anymore. It’s too late now. Some things can’t be fixed.
One key element to this terrible prophecy is the scarlet beast on which the whore of Babylon rides, being the same beast that eventually turns on her and destroys her.
“…I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was full of blasphemous names, and it had seven heads and ten horns… The ten horns that you saw, they and the beast will hate the prostitute. They will make her desolate and naked, and devour her flesh and burn her up with fire, for God has put it into their hearts to carry out his purpose by being of one mind and handing over their royal power to the beast…” (Rev. 17:3, 16-17)
God is going to use certain nations upon which America is initially riding in dominance to join together and carry out its destruction — “For behold, I am stirring up and bringing against Babylon a gathering of great nations, from the north country. And they shall array themselves against her.” (Rev. 50:9)
Right now, Russia, Iran, Turkey, China, an assembly of northern countries that aren’t terribly amused by the United States, have all been forming stronger and stronger ties with each other.
“Trump’s biggest nightmare? China and Russia’s newfound friendship” (CNN).
“Putin in Ankara to forge Alliance of Russia, Turkey and Iran” (Al Arabiya).
“…prepare the nations for war against her; summon against her the kingdoms, Ararat, Minni, and Ashkenaz…” (Jer. 51:27) — or in modern-day, Turkey, Iran, and Russia.
I reckon this to be the event that instigates the new order of the Antichrist, the world reshaped through horror, the beast system and its mark imposed for the sake of unity amidst pandemonium, society amidst chaos.
I’m not putting forth any guesses on who the Antichrist is, but I will at least submit that the leaders of those countries that align to destroy the U.S. are the 10 kings that will reign with the Antichrist — “And the ten horns that you saw are ten kings who have not yet received royal power, but they are to receive authority as kings for one hour, together with the beast. These are of one mind, and they hand over their power and authority to the beast… The ten horns that you saw, they and the beast will hate the prostitute. They will make her desolate and naked, and devour her flesh and burn her up with fire…” (Rev. 17:12-13, 16)
Babylon’s destruction is going to be an act of divine vengeance in which it is being destroyed all at once in a manner that reflects how it has dealt with other nations. When reading the prophecies of this fallen Babylon sinking in flames, remember that the great war-nation of America is the only country to have used a nuclear bomb against another country. This could be a major hint as to how the USA meets its end, and how such a fall could be so sudden and so fast.
“For this is the vengeance of the Lord: take vengeance on her; do to her as she has done… Repay her according to her deeds; do to her according to all that she has done.” (Jer. 50:15, 29)
“Pay her back as she herself has paid back others, and repay her double for her deeds; mix a double portion for her in the cup she mixed.” (Rev. 18:6)
I think this refers to a host of nuclear attacks that leaves it suddenly, in one day, one hour, powerless and destroyed — “… in a single hour all this wealth has been laid waste.” (Rev. 18:17)
No one will ever forget what the U.S. did to Hiroshima and Nagasaki, or that it was at war throughout 93% of its entire history. And God hasn’t forgotten either.

UFO’s currently hovering over Philly. All traffic stopped along Strawberry Mansion Bridge. No official reports. I counted 8 lights blinking in the sky over Fairmont. Could be drones, but I don’t think so. This is it, guys. If you don’t believe now, you’re falling behind in evolution.
Isaiah too speaks a lengthy description of this event, the same terrible future event spoken of by Jeremiah, and later by John.
“The Lord of hosts is mustering a host for battle. They come from a distant land, from the end of the heavens, the Lord and the weapons of his indignation,to destroy the whole land… Behold, the day of the Lord comes, cruel, with wrath and fierce anger, to make the land a desolation and to destroy its sinners from it. For the stars of the heavens and their constellations will not give their light; the sun will be dark at its rising, and the moon will not shed its light…” (Isaiah 13:4-5)
That passage is without a doubt that celestial vanishing described in the 6th seal of Revelation — “…the sun became black as sackcloth, the full moon became like blood, and the stars of the sky fell to the earth…” (Rev. 6:12-13) In regards to timing, this draws an indisputable link between the destruction of Babylon and the 6th seal, a nearly simulates event, with both Isaiah and Revelation designating this event the first official declaration of God’s wrath in the eschatological timeline — “Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who is seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb, for the great day of their wrath has come…” (6th seal, Rev. 6:16-17)
The Prophet Isaiah continues to describe the destruction of Babylon—America—like the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.
“And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the splendor and pomp of the Chaldeans, will be like Sodom and Gomorrah when God overthrew them. It will never be inhabited or lived in for all generations…” (Isaiah 13:19-20)
A land of tolerance—to the unrepentant sinner, the militant homosexual, the sexually unrestrained, the proud. This is describing a place where right is wrong, and wrong is right; where those who uphold truth are reprimanded and punished, even by their own government, for not embracing the lawlessness of God-haters, self-lovers, and man-worshipers.
And matching the prophecies in Jeremiah and Revelation, Isaiah again tells us that this land, once destroyed, “will never be inhabited or lived in for all generations”—a fate this world has yet to see become realized by an entire country. This is not literal Babylon, nor Rome. It is the ultimate destiny of America.
In the very next chapter of Isaiah is the hidden identity of America’s true god…
“How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of Dawn! How you are cut down to the ground, you who laid the nations low! You said in your heart, ‘I will ascend to heaven; above the stars of God I will set my throne on high; I will sit on the mount of assembly in the far reaches of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.’ But you are brought down to Sheol, to the far reaches of the pit.” (Isaiah 14:12-15)
Pride, corruption, death.
The path of the Devil.
“As she glorified herself and lived in luxury, so give her a like measure of torment and mourning, since in her heart she says, ‘I sit as a queen, I am no widow, and mourning I shall never see.” (Rev. 18:7)
“For she has proudly defied the Lord, the Holy One of Israel. …’Behold, I am against you, O proud one, declares the Lord God of hosts… The proud one shall stumble and fall with none to raise him up…” (Jer. 50:29,31)
“I will put an end to the pomp of the arrogant, and lay low the pompous pride of the ruthless.” (Isaiah 13:11)

Next year maybe. My resolution for the new year is… to be a better person! No, seriously this time. Love wins XO
I do have confidence that the termination of America will take place just after the rapture of the Church. For one, because Isaiah 13 connects the destruction of eschatological Babylon to the start of God’s wrath, which the Church is not appointed to (1 Thess. 5:9). Secondly, the destruction of Babylon in Jeremiah 50 (v. 43) and Isaiah 13 (v. 8) is likened to the labour pains of a pregnant woman, and Isaiah 66 explicitly says that the birth of Zion’s child, the Church—the “male child” raptured immediately at birth in Revelation 12—occurs before the woman goes into labour — “Before she was in labor she gave birth; before her pain came upon her she delivered a son. Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall a land be born in one day? Shall a nation be brought forth in one moment?” (rapture and fall of Babylon all in one day) “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation…” (1 Pet. 2:9) “For as soon as Zion was in labor she brought forth her children.” (Isa. 66:7-8)
The violent fate of America/Babylon will likely be realized as soon as the Church is raptured, the same day, just as God waited for Lot to be outside the city of Sodom before destroying it — “Behold, I grant you this favor also, that I will not overthrow the city of which you have spoken. Escape there quickly, for I can do nothing till you arrive there.” (Gen. 19:21-22) “…on the day when Lot went out from Sodom, fire and sulfur rained from heaven and destroyed them all—so will it be on the day when the Son of Man is revealed.” (Luke 17:29-30)
May the Spirit of the Lord be our guide in this last hour.
